The award-winning Action-RPG Victor Vran is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and we got a chance to get hands on with the popular PC/Steam title at a special event in a Central London crypt.
The event was the perfect mix of creepy and kickass, where they served JD and Coke, affectionately known as “a Lemmy” and Phil Campbell (Motörhead) was in attendance, giving the game an added seal of rock approval. Developed by Haemimont Games, Victor Vran, originally released on PC is now be coming to consoles, meaning that even more people will get a chance to slice, dice, crush and blast demonic creatures in one of the most addictive titles in the genre. The game is stalking its way on to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in partnership with independent games publisher Wired Productions, available digitally and physically.
In case you’re not familiar with the title, Victor Vran is an isometric Action-RPG that encourages players to venture and vanquish to their liking. Players can forge their own personal version of Victor by utilizing a vast array of powerful weapons, game-changing outfits, and wicked, spell-like demonic powers as they explore the vast city of Zagaravia and its sprawling districts. Take on waves of demons and clever boss monsters alone, on the couch alongside an ally, or online as a team of four – and emerge victorious in co-op modes.
Haemimont CEO Gabriel Dobrev, attended at the hands-on event and told us that it means a lot to be able to spread the Victor Vran love to the traditional console world following its successes on PC/Steam. The console port announcement coincides with the release of Victor Vran: Overkill Edition, which includes both Fractured Worlds and Motörhead: Through the Ages DLCs for PS4, Xbox One, as well as PC. The “Motörhead through the ages” expansion pack weaves music and story from Motörhead into the game, including the late great frontman Lemmy Kilmister.
The Toxic Avenger’s Lloyd Kaufman (famous for directing and producing the must see Troma movies, as well as being the occasional actor) was also involved in the video game and appears as a character in the character Hub area. Kaufman flew over to London for the hands-on event and had a barrage of hilarious things to say. But the key takeaways were that his got a small penis, Victor Vran rocks, Haemimont games rock, fans of independent games rock and he’s going to build a wall…around Bulgaria. He’s a legend!
We can’t wait to get our hands on this one in the coming weeks, Victor Vran is definitely one to add your hit list.
